I just read the story about the horrific bus murder that occured on a Greyhound bus traveling from Winnipeg to Edmonton.
My heart is wrenching and at unrest.
I cannot simply process or begin to comprehend how someone could just stab, murder, decapitate, and carve up another human being, who he “seemingly” didn’t know.
The part that horrifies me the most is this,
Caton described the attacker as surprisingly calm. “It was like he was at the beach or something. There was no rage in him. He wasn’t swearing or cursing or anything. It was just like he was a robot or something.”
How could anyone be like that upon killing and decapitating another human being? It just doesn’t make sense.
Father God, soften my heart and help me process this whole situation. Help me not live in fear as a result of this instance, but help me realize and comprehend that you are sovereign over all things. Even though it may not seem like it all the time. Even though it may seem like you “took a break” or were “looking the other way” when this situation happened, help me just realize that your ways are higher than my ways. Please be with the family of Tim McLean. Please comfort them. And please help them understand that you have not forgotten them. Oh Lord…have mercy. In your name I pray, Amen.

Murder on a BUS?! Dear GOD…that’s mind blowing *poof* in the famous words of my favorite author ‘Rob Bell’ would say.
But i can say, god had a reason as to why this had to happen. Obviously it wasn’t pretty, and we don’t understand it, but there was someone who needed to witness that, who needs to hear about this, because i believe it might change someone’s life for the better.

Yeah, this story made it to the news in Korea while we were there. The video footage gave me nightmares for a while. I was horrified when I heard it.
Oh…I’m glad I didn’t watch the video footage!
